Female Height Preference in Men

This recent survey by the AEI about dating preferences really surprised me. I’d been led by the internet to believe that women have become more obsessed with height than we were 20 years ago. This quote from the survey seems to line up with the way women thought about height when I was in college. Most women just want someone their height or greater.
“A majority (56 percent) of women say they would be less likely to date someone who is “much shorter” than they are, but only 11 percent of men say the same. Men are more likely than women to object to dating someone much taller than them, but not to the same degree. About one-third (32 percent) of men say they would be less likely to date someone who is taller. Eight percent of women say the same. Notably, despite strong dating preferences when it comes to height, only about one in four (24 percent) women say they would be more likely to date someone taller than them.”
There were lots on interesting little tidbits in here. The biggest dealbreaker was smoking cigarettes. LINK

FUn fact-
The original actor hired to portray Marty McFly in Back To The Future didn't work out, so he was replaced by Michael J. Fox. However, the role of his girlfriend Jennifer had already been cast, and she was taller than Fox. The director asked all of the female staff in a meeting if they would ever date a guy shorter than them in high school. They all said no. So this actress also got fired and replaced with a shorter girl who you now know today as Marty's girlfriend, Jennifer.

That’s my preference as well, but you have to be aware of fat potential as they get older.

I'm 5'10 and have never had any issues, but women tell me I'm good-looking. I think looks/build and attitude are higher up the totem pole than height.

Totally ok for women to have height preference and men to have weight preference.

I’m short. 5’7” .
Never even knew it was a thing until social media.
Never fazed me. Pulled plenty in my day.
I think it’s a thing now because of social media. Never bothered me back in the day. I did grow up in south Louisiana. Lots of short folks.
It’s all about confidence.

My nephew is 31, nicest dude in the world, is built like a strong safety and a good looking dude with game, but he’s 5’6.
Feel so bad because he’s always single.

I always thought that as well, which is why I was thrown off by the apparent obsession with height in the last decade or so. When nearly 50% of women are no less likely to date men who are shorter they are, then height is far less important than dating apps have led us to believe.

Well there's a fricking surprise.

I’m 5’7. I like girls around 5’4 to 5’7. I think my height has hampered me somewhat in dating. I have a nice bank account and a church goer but that hasn’t helped either…lol.

Even funner fact, that actress was Melora Harden, aka Jan Levinson-Gould of The Office

If you got it, height doesn't matter to females.

The original was the actress that played Jan in The Office right?

I'm pretty tall and mostly dated short girls for whatever reason before I got married. My wife is about average height. Not sure if it's just coincidence or not. I never really felt like I had a strong preference.

If you’ve got a big bank account “it” doesn’t matter with women. They don’t like shrimps.
