Cartoons were great but I also liked the NBC block of sitcoms which had like - Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Hang Time, USA High, City Guys, followed by NBA Inside Stuff

Hang Time,

Is this the show where the girl played on the men's basketball team? That show was stupid. I didn't know if the HS had a girls team or not, but I assumed they did and I thought that there was no way she was so good that she had to play on the boys team.

And if she was that good then she would dominate playing with the girls and could get a scholarship to go play pretty much anywhere, but playing with the boys she wouldn't have the type of stats that bounce off the page.

This was my train of thought at like 12-13 years old.

What about Hanging With Mr. Cooper? Didn't that come on Saturday mornings?

The good cartoons used to come on during the week when you got home from school. GI Joe, He-Man, etc...

But cartoons had a limited viewer base.. Kids. So I guess they air shows that would capture the interest of a bigger pool of people.

But why do parents want their kids to watch what they watched as a kid? I can see showing it to them once or twice, but I dont understand parents who want their kids to grow up as they did and not let them have their own thing.
