I know, I'm a nerd, but I'm going. I'll pass on some thoughts tomorrow.

Still debating if I want to go see it at 7:30 tonight. Don't want to stand in that long arse line.

I'm going tonight too. I hope there's no line, because there's a pretty cool chill in the air.

Had a pass to go see it at 7:30 at the Hollywood 9 in kenner. I decided not to go, don't like waiting in long lines.

It was alright, definitely didn't help having a test tomorrow morning. Not nearly as good as Casino Royale IMHO, but a bond movie nonetheless.

My suggestion is wait until it comes out on DVD. Dont waste your money or time. I like the bond films that actually have somewhat of a storyline that can be followed and that doesnt have many loose ends, but this one is all over the place. Its a shite load of action though which was pretty cool, but too many doors are opened up that are just closed shut without any explanations. Trust me, the name makes the movie sound a whole lot cooler than it really is.

huge letdown. Casino Royale was much better.

This movie was basically a setup for the next installment of the Bond series. I get the idea and everything, but it is a waste of money because nothing was answered. Too many doors were opened and left hanging. Bond is a ruthless and cold-blooded killer now, seeking revenge of a loved one, but the plot was just all over the place. Too many cities that were traveled and a weak storyline.

I tried to warn ya'll last week, they've bastardized James Bond.
LINK
I half expected him to pull out a Desert Eagle instead of his handy Walther.

It was far from the worst Bond ever(Hello Moonraker)

They had the pieces to put together a plot, but like that super elaborate Christmas toy they just never bothered to take it out of box and get everything put together.

Ok we've got a villain? Yeah
What about a scheme for the villain? Got that too
We have a girl? Check

Ok I think we can just wrap this whole plot thing up guys!

The characterization was non-existent and every time the movie tried to find a voice it stood in its own and made everyone go jump out of planes or something, but you couldn't enjoy that because of the Bourne 2 queasy fight cam mode(which was taken to a whole new level). Thus the dialogue was short, choppy, and frustrating because of hip it tried to sound in the 30 seconds it was given before we had to go fight someone, then the fight scenes couldn't just be fight scenes we had to have some sort of other thing spliced in the...... OHHHHHHHH PAUSE STOP THE FIGHT WE HAVE TO DO SPY STUFF..... middle of the fight scene.

Did I mention no character beyond Bond is remotely sympathetic?

The movie tried to have its cake and eat it too. The old Bonds were good(for the most part) even though they lacked characterization because we were given cool fight scenes, gadgets, locations, and schemes. Casino Royale was good because it toned down on some of the more outlandish parts of Band and replaced it with characterization and a more realistic plot. In this one they tried not to make any sacrifices(except for the gadgets) and ended up never really satisfying ANY part of what it tried to do.

I thought the movie was a pretty solid entry into the Bond series.

It wasn't anywhere near as good as Casino Royale but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Moonraker or Die Another Day, either. And Craig is still an excellent Bond.

However, you have to enjoy it for the "Bond seeking revenge" storyline because, unless you're a citizen of Bolivia, the villain's scheme isn't likely to provoke any strong feelings of urgency.
