If ESPN gets the BCS from Fox, does that worry you?

Considering the influence they already have over the process (as is), what if they owned the TV rights for the whole dam deal.

The big market teams would of course get more consideration, higher numbers of viewers=higher ad dollars.

The SEC on CBS can't help.

Am I wrong to be a little paranoid?

You think ESPN is the only network worried about ratings

I hate espn as much as anyone else but there coverage of the bcs games when they had the bcs was much better than Fox is now, Fox could eventually get better but I liked abc and espn better.

Fox sucks. Just makes no sense to allow a company that has nothing to do with college football (other than the regional fox sports stations) to host the biggest games of the year. Bring in some idiots for pre/post show (Chris Rose, Urban meyer weiner, jimmy johnson) give it to ESPN/ABC. Hell ABC already has the Rose Bowl.

It worries me because of all of the people who will not be able to see the game. This would really suck for them.

True, and they've even hinted at pay-per-view.
Now THAT would suck.

My guess is that when they finally agree to a playoff... semi final and final become ppv. if it gets us to a playoff system.. i'm down.

ESPN/ABC would have a monopoly on college football if that happens. That is bad news for everyone, because if it does happen, ESPN/ABC could do whatever it wants with it and we'd just have to take it.

Fox is refreshing at the end of the year, it's different coverage, the announcers are fresh and UNBIASED, the focus is on the GAME and the atmosphere particular to college football (i.e. showing the bands' halftime performances)...plus it's not on cable/dish.

ESPN/ABC has enough of the share; the game needs to be split between the networks, not dominated by one.

ESPN was ALL over LSU ALL of last year, way more than any other team.

The "ESPN hates LSU" thing is so ridiculous.

You do realize the polls have favored LSU over USC the past few seasons right?

ESPN getting the BCS from Fox would be an improvement IMO.

You would get them to publicize the teams that are really the best, not the ones that they have a contract with.

Currently they try to influence the rankings to get as many "top 10" matchups on their lineup as possible.

If CBS got the BCS the national title game would be at 3:30

By the way the Pac-10 has a contract with FSN so it would not be a monopoly.
