To be honest kratom got its popularity because opiate addicts used it to get off opiates. Sure, you can still get fricked up on it but the side effects are menial compared to the harder stuff. And in a 20th of the dose they do it's quite beneficial. Big pharma would rather write them a methadone script and get hooked on that instead, which is part of the legality issue.

Muiltiple bills are being filed by the Puritans to schedule 1 Kratom now, guess who is backing them.........police and sheriff associations. I would like to see how many actual kratom related crimes there are lol.
