If he is "just a guy who buys talent" then how do you explain his success at Chattanooga. Wade was 32 years old when he got the HC job there. The program had not had a winning season in 4 years prior to Wade's arrival. The coach Wade replaced was so good that he coached high school basketball for 5 years after being fired.

Wade went 40-25 in his two seasons at Chattanooga. Finishing second in the league in both of his 2 years. The team he left behind won the conference and went to the NCAA Tournament...for a HC that would in two years get the UMass job and never have a winning season.

Must have been all that money Chatanooga booster were throwing around in those days

That was really the point of my post. Turning around a shitty Southland team would prove he’s much more than “strong arse offer” WW. But if he fails, right or wrong it will be hard for him to shake that label
