The GOP establishment can’t stand Trump but they’re not going to sabotage him in a general election when so many positions of power are available if he wins.

I'm not so sure about this. The "establishment" are just democrats posing as Republicans. They are perfectly fine with democrats being in control, because the "establishment" types want the same things as democrats.
