Someone doesn't understand nuance at all.

Why do you think Red States in the deep south have so much welfare? Think hard..

I'll bet you that the dysfunction in red States will easily jump to blue states for those sweet handouts when secession occurs.

Leftists cry about secession but realize all the men would be gone and there would be no one except minorities to do their work.

If MS, LA, AL, AR wanted to create their own nation - strictly from a production standpoint - the US government would say "Great, we are much better off. Those states were a negative to us financially. They took way more from us than they provided."
WRONG

Even the poorest states when we divorce this thing out would rank among the EU countries in GDP

Spoken like the Southerner I mentioned.
Waaah I don't like the way the game turned out. I'll just not play anymore. It's the Yankees from the Blue States, I tell ya.

Remind me again, which party made folks dependent on the federal government? NOW you see that net negatives on the economy are a bad thing?

And when you look at federal aid per capita, the south is far behind the northeast and California.

Because the systemic issues that red states perpetuate create significantly more poor people without any upward movement potential?

Yet no where close to the remaining US states. Which is fine if that's your goal. Leave a world power to become the Netherlands.

1) Mainly agricultural history

2) An extremely high percentage of minorities that Democrats have trapped in poverty through their "war" which is a colossal failure.

3) Shitty populist government. Collective retardation over individual excellence.

Alabama and Mississippi have both passed California in education, they'll pass California in a myriad of ways over the next decade.

So despite being governed by the people they want, enacting laws that they want. It's STILL the democrats fault there are so many poor people in their own state? Why do you allow people to pass the buck so easily instead of taking responsibility for their shitty governing?

I've always seen the net negatives from being dependent on the federal government.

You think I'm liberal? Because I'm anti-secession? What kind of f*cked up conversation is this?

Doesn't change the fact that southern states are dependent, partially because of policies, but also because they don't produce much.

The poorest states, southern or elsewhere, will rank among the EU members in GDP

and this is ignoring the possible efficiencies of new borders

You've said that already. So they can all bind together and become as big as the Netherlands?

Is your new country going to also depend on the US to defend them?

It’s easy to look at a GDP chart and think it would be great but a new nation would have to establish favorable trade agreements not backed by the USA and it’s globally used currency and dominant military power.

And if the entire country breaks up than all of our economies will face substantial influence from the people who control the Yuan and the Euro.

The federal reserve is full of crooks but at least they are our crooks.

Dr. Matt Qvortrup--a leading scholar in the areas of international relations and independence movements--thoroughly addresses this subject in his recent book, I want to break free: A practical guide to making a new country; specifically, in Chapter 4 (The power and the passion: the international politics of creating a new state) and Chapter 6 (Shake your money maker: the economics of becoming a new country). If you're interested in this topic of international trade agreements and the backing of the "ex," you may enjoy grabbing this book. It's a succinct and quick read.

Independence means that you become a new international entity and a new subject in international pubic law. However, it does not mean that your country will start from scratch.

We’d just be “giving it away” temporarily. They’d turn their areas into a third world dystopia within years and would be begging us to take them back.
