It's baffling to me there have been zero reported orca attacks on man in the wild.

They are serious killers.

Its baffling to me how a shark can be "cornered" in the ocean, where they can swim in every direction.

my gut says they recognize a lot of us in themselves. their behavior, familial relationships, and probably communication, are so human like. I’m biased because I’ve been obsessed with them since I was a young lad, but it wouldn’t shock me if they feel more kinship with us than we feel with primates

Guess They won't attack mammals that look as harmless as a human.

There is one known attack in the wild. Happened to a surfer off the coast of California in the 1970s and the bite marks matched an orca, not a shark. But it was a one bite and done attack, likely a case of mistaken identity. The surfer survived.
