Do card points roll over to new cards with same company?

For example, you have a Amex Gold and want to change to Amex Cash Back or something else.
Do the reward points from the Gold go to the Cash back card?

Nope. For Amex, you need a card that is part of the membership rewards program to hold MR points.
What you can do is signup for the Amex Everyday card which is part of the MR program and has no annual fee. I'm currently doing this to hold my MR points from when I had an Amex Plat.
