I really like where Charlie Crème has us right now. Possible sweet 16 matchup vs Duke favors us Duke doesn’t score well at all.
As a 2 seed possible teams that LSU could play
Garden Webb
Maybe SELU again?

Duke’s Coach Kara Lawson makes SC Staley look like a Trump supporter, so there is that. Their D is tough, but yes they are scoring challenged

Duke would be by far the easiest potential sweet 16 matchup
IF this all happens
That bracket looks dramatically more doable than last years

As far as a good path to winning 3 games, I like it.
As far as a path to the Final Four goes, I don't like it.
Beyond SC, I've said all along that I think Indiana is clearly the 2nd best team (even though they lost in their tournament). I don't care who the other top seeds end up being (Stanford/Utah/Virginia Tech/Iowa), I think Indiana is a notch above all of them.
And I also don't think UConn stays at 3--they got a player back and they have flipped the switch and are kicking arse again in their tournament. If they beat Villanova tomorrow I think they are back on the 2-line, especially since their NET is top 4 and also since they have UConn on their jersey.
Who gets bumped from the 2-line if this happens? My guess is LSU. And this would be interesting because if LSU is the "best 3-seed", that would make them 9 overall and that spot on the S-Curve has them potentially matched up with South Carolina in the Elite 8. I really believe the committee will try to keep LSU and SC apart before the Final Four if they can.
So what would happen? The committee would probably bump LSU down to "2nd 3-seed" to avoid that from happening.

Let’s say that was the bracket. The first goal would be to take care of business in front of a big and noisy home crowd and defeat the winner of the Kansas-Creighton game. Last year’s team couldn’t get it done vs. Ohio State.
After that it is uncharted territory.

Both of those teams are very good.
As it turned out, we got a bad draw with Ohio State last year--they were underseeded. But with Morris hurt, quite a few teams could have beaten us.

Ohio st was also a terrible matchup for LSU. Excluding the loss of Morris who was basically giving LSU 20 PPG down the stretch, Ohio St was a very strong 3 point shooting team.
Guess what last years 3 point defense ranked for LSU? #341 in the nation, nearly dead last of D1
This years 3 point D is ranked #18 nationally. They should be able to get to a sweet 16 from home with a healthy Morris, Reese and Flaujae. Everything else is purely on matchups.
They do need to get more from Carson down the stretch although I’m not sure if it’s feasible at this point. We may end up seeing mostly Poole or Poa

Carson has been a huge disappointment IMO. They brought her in solely to make 3s. And she doesn’t make any.

With Washington State winning the PAC 12, I could definitely see them being our first round matchup.

Can't play SELU again due to bracketing rules. What they have right now is probably pretty close... not much will change with Big 12 tournament still to happen.

LSUgrad- any chance we lose our 2 if UCONN wins today? Creme has UCONN as 3 right now

I would be shocked if UConn isn't a 2. They would have to take someone's place who is there now. That someone could be us...or maybe Maryland.
Bracketology guy is usually pretty sharp, but I think he is over-reacting by putting Virginia Tech as a #1. Their NET is 9 this morning. And Maryland is 13, but he has them as a 2-seed.
All of this is conjecture--there is no telling what the committee will do. But I do feel confident that SC and LSU won't be paired together in the same bracket.

Thanks LSUgrad, agreed do not see how UCONN falls to 3, maybe a loss tonight but if Fudd back they are a different team and she is back. As you say Va Tech a reach at 1, their ooc is not much better than ours

Exactly. If VATech is a #1, then we damn well better stay at #2

I actually think Iowa may be the final 1 over VA Tech. They best Indiana last week and ran through the Big 10 Tourny.

New bracketology has LSU 3-seed and UConn 2, as I expected. But it isn't all bad--he has us #3 with #1 Virginia Tech and #2 Maryland. I would take that right now in a heartbeat. I want no part of South Carolina, Indiana, or Uconn.
And how about the committee setting up a matchup with Angel and her old school in Maryland...

KMM can use the 3 as a motivator as well, 28-2 and a 3. Would also LOVE Va Tech, Maryland!

I would be happy if we can get out of the PMAC with two wins. I will call that a very successful season
