We’re in a great district so I was never worried about the schools. And it turns out they’re not the biggest issue. It’s the other kids.
I get that. It’s always, or nearly always, the other kids who have the greatest influence on your kid.
If mine are good at sports and wish to play at a high level, there might be an exception once high school hits, but not before then and our values are well established and understood.
That said, I still don’t think there are any public schools that are good. The nature of the classroom experience is not conducive to true learning. The origin of the public school system was to teach kids how to be factory workers, which is why the desks are set up just so. Kids and boys especially, are meant to learn by doing. Can’t do that in a class room.
