Ok. You seethe and refuse to flip the channels. I’ll continue to watch more golf. To each his own.

If you change the channel from honda to LIV or Vice versa, you aren’t watching “more” golf

I wouldn't say that yet. They will never turn a profit, but Norman is on a quest to destroy the PGA and that will be a win for LIV if they are successful. With their coffers, anything is possible.

Disagree. I usually watch the NFC during football season. If the game is boring or at a break or halftime, I flip to the AFC game. If you want to play the semantics game, that is definitively “more” football. I shouldn’t have to make that argument, though, as you are very aware of my point.

Do you actually think it's realistic to think it's possible LIV will destroy the PGA? If you want to say that it's possible LIV will eventually become successful themselves, yes there's a way that can happen, but there is no path that destroys the PGA

Their initial blitzkrieg was always going to be their biggest and most likely effort to win. Here we are after that, and it’s an event with absolutely no support
I just don’t see it working at this point. They already offered the money, that’s their only play. What’s left?

If the nfl split in two, and played games at the same time, you aren’t getting “more football”.

So what?

Silliness. The NFL has 32 teams. Guess they should only have, what? 4, 8? That’s all you need to have the very best players and we wouldn’t have the unnecessary two games at once.

Maybe they won't destroy it completely, but if LIV ever gets legit OWGR points, then watch the exodus then. Most of the players that have exited the PGA are either at the end of their career or have already won a major so they are exempted for other majors for a while.
I think the fact that LIV doesn't offer legit OWGR points is what is keeping guys on the PGA Tour.

Golf league has 50 players playing every Saturday from 8-5
They then split in two, 25 players playing every Saturday from 8-5 in one event, and 25 players playing 8-5 in another event
I don’t see that as more golf

But with as weak as the support has been, I’m not sure even that could work now. If that would have happened 6 months ago I think LIV would have “won”

This is silly. What is the precise size a golf field should be? Any less is dilution, any more is just too much and not the correct number? So what is the precise number? Same for football? Precise number of teams and players per team?

Dude this isn’t difficult. If it wasn’t for LIV, dj, and cam etc would be competing against the other top golfers. Instead they aren’t. I view that as dilution and not something to be excited about as “more golf”

Ok. I disagree.

So just to clarify, you would rather see DJ, cam, etc split off and playing last weekend in Mexico against Pat Perez and the like, instead of playing this weekend and next with the rest of the best players in the world?

There are two pga tournaments this weekend. Can you please post a single post of yours crying about dilution? My preference is the players play wherever the hell they want and I have the option to watch any or all of the tournaments that are being played. Why do you want to limit a players options?
Btw, the only reason DJ and Cam aren’t playing this week is because the PGA banned them. They played last week. Had they still been on the PGA tour they would not have played last week against a Honda field, where most people sat out. So if I wanted to see DJ last week, the LIV provided an opportunity. By definition…more golf.

At this point I think LIV is what it is. The players they got this year were pretty underwhelming and definitely aren't attracting any new viewers. We will have to wait and see if the CW broadcast will catch on and they are able to beat PGA events. But They got beat 10x on viewership this weekend against a pretty crummy field at the Honda Classic compared to the season opener for LIV.
Unless they are willing to drop giant money to move Rory, JT, Spieth, Scheffler, which would probably cost them $1B+ total, I don't see them drawing any better.
Also, just watched the Koepka episode of Full Swing, and that guy is so far from his peak he should probably hang it up like Smylie.

the PGA banned them
PGA would already be dead. LIV requires 14 events. The players would have played nothing else besides LIV and the majors and possibly 1 event or so on the pga tour

You ignored the entirety of my post, except for this?

LIV requires 14 events.
Which 14 pga events would be compromised by this?

Because the rest of your post is nonsense. If LIV didn’t exist, I could watch DJ and Cam play against the other best in the world. But as of now I can’t. So I will continue to root for its quick implosion. Not because “I hate LIV”, because I love watching the best players all being together
