Guy finds out he’s illegal after working for CBP for years.

Crazy story, can’t be that common I imagine. Never spoke to his father again after finding out his birth cert. was fake.

Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI) allows certain non-citizens who are legally present in the United States to join the U.S. military and apply immediately for U.S. citizenship using Form N-400, “Application for Naturalization,” without first obtaining lawful permanent residence.

As I kid, I always wondered why most of the Chiefs I met were Filipino, but here's another example:

Non-citizens have served in the military since the Revolutionary War. The Lodge Act of 1950
permitted non-citizen Eastern Europeans to enlist between 1950 and 1959. Additionally, the United
States officially began recruiting Filipino nationals into the Navy in the late 1940s, when it signed the
Military Bases Agreement of 1947 allowing U.S. military bases in the Philippines. In total, over
35,000 Filipinos enlisted in the Navy through the program between 1952 and 1991.

When I attended my wife’s (no pics) citizenship ceremony in 2008, there were about six soldiers there being sworn in as citizens. One of them was even a kraut! I have no issue with military service being a faster path to citizenship.

If it can happen to a President, it can happen to anyone.

I always wondered if it would make sense to have some form or Foreign Legion?

I’m all about granting citizenship to anyone who wants to fight for our country.
