The Cotton Bowl is also considering Ole Miss, which is tied with LSU in the Southeastern Conference West standings at 3-3 and its best victory is clearly better than LSU's best victory. The Rebels defeated No. 3 Florida 31-30 on Sept. 27 in Gainesville, Fla. LSU's best win was over No. 24 South Carolina, 24-17, on Oct. 18.

what was auburn ranked at the time when we beat them? 10th or 12th? clearly a mistake on the writer's side

What is Auburn ranked now? I think that's the point and the rankings they are talking about. The here and now rankings.

I can see your point, what was clearly stated was a mistake..........

Writer said " our best win" ..........I don't care if it is in terms of relevancy or not to time....that was not in the statement.

I am tired of the incorrect articles on LSU ...its complete BS IMO. Either get it right, or don't write.

How is it a mistake if they are using current rankings? A win on the road over a ranked team (South Carolina) is better than a win on the road to an unranked team (Auburn). Regardless of how you feel about which game was the "best" win for LSU, it doesn't make what the person wrote in the article incorrect.

Added: And after this week, LSU's best win will be over an unranked South Carolina after Florida demolishes the Gamecocks.

I don't want to see Ole Piss play in a bowl espescially in the Cotton Bowl!! So you guys beat Ole Piss, and keep them out.

Auburn sucks

USC is better than AU

AU isn't even close to being ranked right now

He also said we played North Texas at 10:00 a.m.

Guilbeau has a fact checking problem.

Dude, it doesn't matter how good people thought they were at the time we played them - it only matters how good they actually are - and Auburn clearly blows this year.

Living in B'ham, I've decided to take the "Gump" approach to the Aw-barn game, (it's what they all like to say about their Clemson win, see?)and it goes a little something like this:

Aw-barn could have really pulled it together, and was on the way to a great season, but when LSU came back in the second half to embarrass them in their own stadium, it knocked the chair out from under them! And the rest of the year when to pieces!!

Seriously, AU sucks for sure this year, and we still should have beaten the gumps, but oh well.....

Irrelevant. LSU will bring 25k fans. Ole Miss will bring 10k, maybe. That is all the Cotton will consider.
