And it was quite common in 1980. Maybe 12 and 19 was a little extreme, but in these very rural places (Bienville Parish here), 14-15 year old dating a 19-20 year old was not that uncommon. And a 16 dating a 20-21 was downright normal when I graduated HS in 1979. It would take hand and feet for me to count those couples.
I’m not saying it was right. But it was frequent.

quote:this is still creepy but sure whatever I knew how couples were back in the day, heard about it from my grandparents but I don’t remember them ever saying 19/20 year olds fricking 12 year olds was normal. I hope you have the same emotion if you see a predator arrested tomorrow on the news. Just because something happened in the past doesn’t make it any less worse.
