I like the series but it took about 3 seasons for the $$$$ signs to start to outweigh the message.
Now you have theatrical runs. Delays in streaming, moving away from crowd funded model...
I enjoy it but I'm not going to 3- 3 hour sessions in the theater. Few people have time for that.
Just put it on Apple and sell it to me. Stop being shy about chasing the almighty Revenue Dollar. Thats what a theatrical run is about.

I’ve noticed an increased quality in the production of the series since it has gotten more revenue. Things like bigger sets, bigger number of background actors (extras), better lighting, etc.
I haven’t seen any sign that they are compromising the show’s meaning or message because of greed.
Lastly, I’ll say that I was glad to get a chance to watch it on the big screen. I discovered that it’s not the type of show that greatly benefits from the big screen, like an action show, or a sweeping visual landscape type film, but it was still enjoyable.
I like that it will be perceived as having more legitimacy by some who might not have otherwise seen it.

This couldn’t be further from the truth.
Watch interviews with Dallas Jenkins and the cast.
Their goal is to get it to as many people as possible. The people that like to stream it will have the chance. What’s it to you if they have it in theaters? A few years ago they couldn’t even get it on TV, much less a theater. The popularity is massively growing.
And yes. It’s still crowdfunded. Any money they make they use it to push the series into other countries in other languages to share the Gospel as far as possible.
