Oversized grips, anyone tried them?

I am going to be regripping my clubs soon. I see the oversized grips advertised in different golf magazines. I do have some knuckle pain after a round. How does it affect your swing on the different clubs?

The thicker the grip, the less you use your hands in general. For me, larger grips make it harder to draw the ball but that isn't a bad thing.
I didn't go large but I did add a round of tape or two to my grips. I'll probably go thicker next time.

I use midsize. I love them. I dont have pain in my hands after around anymore. I have big hands so I didnt notice any change in ball flight.

I went with the GP MCC Plus 4 on mine. in the midesize.. I've like them the best thus far.. I attempted a jumbo grip on driver and 3w and hated the feel..
I did just order new Irons with the MCC +4 in standard with 2 extra wraps to see how they feel mainly b/c sometimes I don't get a comfortable grip i like out of the midsize... I wear a M/L cadet glove for hand size reference.

Made the switch to mid size grips two seasons ago and haven’t looked back. It helped me to stop pulling/hooking so much and allowed me to weaken my grip some which has helped me become more consistent.

In my opinion grip fitting is the most neglected part of the fitting process but it's one of the most important as it's the only thing that your hands actually touch. Most gloves sizes sold in stores are XXL, XL, large and medium large but most people use a standard grip which is way to small. I wear a large glove and use oversized or jumbo grips and recommend that almost all my students go to a larger grip size. Tension is the biggest enemy in golf and when the grip is too small you naturally have to squeeze tighter to hold it producing tension in the hands and forearms. When you fill your hand so that your muscles relax, you have less tension. You never get the full athletic potential out of a muscle if it is tense. I personally believe, when in doubt, go bigger.

+1 0n midsize. I've always fought a big hook when my swing gets off a bit. I tried jumbo grips at the suggestion of someone but hated it almost immediately. Hits a lot of blocks with them. Looking back should have just done a club or two. Hope that helps.

I did oversized and drew everything.
I’d do your 7i and try it for a few rounds.
