As far as vinyl chloride contaminating the Mississippi River goes, it’s not really a big deal.

Don’t be disingenuous. You were asking if there would be a national shelter in place order. You were also using EPA water quality data from last year to illustrate the environmental catastrophe.

There’s a lot of room between “national shelter in place” and “literally no impact anywhere.”

There’s a lot of sensationalism going around on Twitter. The link in the OP is no exception. Reality is that while this is awful for the folks living near the derailment, it’s unlikely to have a ton of real impact nationwide. And by “real impact” I mean something that can’t be fairly easily mitigated.
