I had a hot streak between 2010 and 2016.

Between fall 2010 and spring 2014 I lived in a 2BR and then a 4BR at University Heights/Tiger Lodge in Auburn. This was the place where football players were murdered on two different occasions. It wasn't so bad when me and my buddies first moved in but all the nice people left after the first year or two and all the hoodlums moved in. We couldn't get a pizza delivered there after a while which was a big red flag in hindsight. There was plenty of goofy stuff that happened there though. We had a guy with a super loud bass who would drive his arse through the complex at ungodly hours a few nights every week. We called him Mr Awesome. The nets at the basketball court disappeared after the final four every year. A week before my lease was up we nearly had a gang fight in my building. Cops came for that one. Checked the place out again last summer and it's chinatown now. I guess they stopped renting to section 8. Rent was $400/month.

After that I lived in a 1BR for six months, was only like 480 square feet, everything was paper thin, the internet never worked, and we all shared the same ducts and AC. Girl living on one side had to be Indian because everything smelled like curry three nights a week. Guy on the other side loved hot dogs and pumping iron. Girl under me had an incredible sex drive and she was easily 9/10. Too bad I was already dating my wife. Rent was like $370/month.

Then I graduated and moved to Atlanta for work. Found a gated complex literally across the street from the office. Apartment was nice, management was a bunch of crooks. Tires got stolen off my car in the first three months. To this day I am 100% sure the "security" was in on it. Should have retained a lawyer and seen what he could turn up but I was young and trying to save as much money as I could. Plus I hated the job and had little time or energy for anything else. Had to gut it out for another ten months but at least I knew I didn't want to live in Atlanta after that.
