Wife just let me know I have to go with her to Houston while she is ar a conference. She suggested I play golf while she is busy. Great wife.

I have time for 2 rounds so give me suggestions. Drive time nor price a big deal. Also if anyone wants to play let me know. Friday and Saturday rounds

In town Memorial and Gus Wortham.

East is bad golf, don't let anyone sucker you on Eagle Pointe.

South Moody Gardens in Galveston, The Wilderness in Lake Jackson.

West you've got Meadowbrook Farms.

Northwest you've got 36 at Blackhorse.

North you've got Cypresswood, Highland Pines, High Meadow Ranch, Bearkat in Huntsville.

Northeast you've got Tour 18 which I think everyone should play once and you've got Golf Club of Houston.

If you wanna do a short roadie to College Station the Campus Course is very good.

If it's my money I'm going any combo of Memorial, Gus, High Meadow Ranch, or Cypresswood Tradition.

Between these two, I'd definitely play Gus. While I love Memorial, he would have to pay the public rate, which I think is around $130. Gus is a fun course in great shape close to downtown that you can play for under $90 I believe.

I don’t think Gus is that expensive, maybe on a weekend. If it is, I think it’s worth the extra money to play Memo. It’s a tradition of sorts as far as golf in Houston and in a prettier setting. Gus is a good alternative but is not really a championship golf course.

Think Gus maxes out about $65ish, well worth it.

Solid list but don’t really agree with you on Eagle Pointe. While not top tier, it’s definitely not a goat ranch either. If I was going with 2 it would probably be Cypresswood Traditions and probably Blackhorse. Memorial and Golf Club of Houston are contenders.

You seem like you get around H-town golfing? Have you played that new course on 99 in Porter?

Blackhorse

Was underwater for almost a week about a week ago. I don't know what kind of shape it's in other than driving past. Also, if I'm going to spend $150 on a round, I'd pick Memorial over Black horse.

Go play Gus and hit Mambo's afterwards for beer, food and pretty Senioritas.

High Meadow Ranch is a favorite, but it's a haul from Sugarland.

Eagle Pointe could be really good but some of the flattest greens I've ever seen.

Haven't played Highland Pines yet, believe I'm playing in their media day event next month.
