Matthew Stafford was the best quarterback coming out of high school that year. (arguable with Mitch Mustain) Which means he was the real deal and everyone knew it was only a matter of time. Imagine if UGA would have put a redshirt on him, come on. Lee did not even have an offer from the flagship university in his home state. You cannot compare the two.

Yeah, that redshirt would have given him a lot of gametime experience...
And Jarrett wasn't being "groomed" to take over this team last year, even with his redshirt, RP was.. so his RS year wasn't doing for him what Staffords actual time in the games seemed to do for Stafford. So you can't compare that, either.
