Its usually not to hard. I can do them on my polaris ranger in an hour if everything goes well. I have had problems with the little snap ring not compressing (inner spline). There is a slide hammer tool you can purchase to help with this.
I started squirting penetrating oil on mine ahead of time to help reduce this. (They get rusty and don't want to cooperate.)
Fixing to change another one soon.

Check the wheel bearing while you have it apart.
