Because they had one year together in an era where teams were full of great upperclassmen. Freshman Shaq averaged just short of 14 a game.

and Stanley Robert, Vernell Singleton, Maurice Williamson, Wayne Sims.

An absolutely loaded roster, and we couldn't even with the SEC and bowed out early in the NCAA Tourney.

Dale Brown wasn't good with elite talent. He was best with lesser talent that he could motivate.

Shaq said they beat themselves they didn't play as a team but as individuals playing against each other. That's on coaching, sorry
