Cannibalism was entirely moral and ethical in Polynesian societies. Polygyny is currently moral/ethical to about a billion people.
What is your point?
First, I'd challenge the veracity of "Polygyny" as an "moral/ethical" standard of behavior -- even IF practiced by a "billion" people.
The Mayan were said to have routinely sacrificed their children and yet others to their "god" -- while also tearing their still beating hearts out of their chest.
Shoving millions into Cattle Cars then into "showers" to die -- or machine gunning people into ditches/graves was also A-OK as per Nazi Culture.
Other historic cultures also believe it is/was morally/ethically acceptable marry child-brides as of Age 3 or use them OR beasts for adult sexual gratification.
Moloch was the infamous "god of child sacrifice".
Because a practice may be "acceptable" in one particular society hardly makes it relatively "moral" OR "ethical." It merely normalizes evil or barbaric behavior so routine it is deemed "acceptable" to people who've rejected and perverted their inherent sense of Right and Wrong.
As an Agnostic/Atheist, your position is likely that which denies Divine Law inherently exists. Yet...you personally and inherently have a set of values that does indeed comport with Divine Law. (Do you believe one necessarily needs parents/mentors to "know" what is/was "good" OR bad" internally?)

Think about how much money we could save if we simply killed everyone over the age of 70?
See? Everything IS relative.
The WEF / Davos are probably consulting with Pfizer, J&J and corporate Life Insurance company actuaries as we speak.
Wouldn't be surprising if there were a WaPo "leak" that they determined the "Useless Eater" age where the Slave/Servant Class "lose their edge" is closer to 50.

You are obviously to the far left. (Hi Mom!)
Don't see Hank. He might be revving up the Batmobile.

I have a novel idea: Let's teach kids not to be irresponsible whores and when they ARE irresponsible whores, not celebrating their stupid decisions as anything other than stupid decisions.....

quote:Of course you do, because you believe in an objective standard, handed down from your deity.
First, I'd challenge the veracity of "Polygyny" as an "moral/ethical" standard of behavior -- even IF practiced by a "billion" people.
quote:child sacrifice amongst the Mayans was not remotely “routine,“ but it did occur, yes. More common was the sacrifice of war captives. Either way, that behavior is utterly immoral within our cultural milieu. Within theirs, it was not even remotely immoral. To the contrary, it was an integral part of their moral and religious system.
The Mayan were said to have routinely sacrificed their children and yet others to their "god" -- while also tearing their still beating hearts out of their chest.
quote:Here, you are confusing things a bit. The Nazis went to great lengths to hide these activities from the bulk of their population, because they fully understood that the bulk of the population would see those actions as being immoral within the western European moral and ethical framework.
Shoving millions into Cattle Cars then into "showers" to die -- or machine gunning people into ditches/graves was also A-OK as per Nazi Culture.
quote:Well, modern scholarship tells us that no such God existed within the Canaanite pantheon, and that “mlk“ was a form of ritual sacrifice performed to honor all of the Canaanite gods, originally including “yhwh.”
Moloch was the infamous "god of child sacrifice".
quote:Agnostic Deist, actually, but you do get the gist of it. I am fairly confident that no moral system has ever been handed down to humanity by any purported deity.
As an Agnostic/Atheist, your position is likely that which denies Divine Law inherently exists.
quote:The western European moral code largely derives from Abrahamic religions, yes. 2000 years of cultural evolution will do that.
Yet...you personally and inherently have a set of values that does indeed comport with Divine Law.

I have some hold-out white trashy next door to our house in Montana. Their existence is causing detrimental economic consequences to us due to decreased rental and property values.
I think I should be able to just take them off the board.

quote:You are quite simply delusional if you haven't figured out that the default democrat position in 2023 is ZERO restrictions upon abortion.
I make a distinction between real people and the hyper-partisans that the primary system sends to our statehouses, but few states allow elective abortions in the birth canal. In fact, only six allow abortion after 24 weeks.
Their numbers are overwhelming majorities of Democrats.

The Economic Consequences of promiscuity
Fool around unprotected, realize you might be preggy, ignore that reality until no alternative is available, ignore adoption, get surprised by the economic realities of your choice. That is not about promiscuity. It's about failure to understand consequences.

You are wrong.
It says 80% of Democrats want abortion net legal in ALL/MOST cases. 60% of Repubs want it net illegal in ALL/MOST cases.
What are you lookin at? LOL
