Interesting. Wonder how this will work out?

Part of the parish has been 4 day week for 20 years and its worked out just fine

But the big stink is that the schools and the parents wanted the day off on Friday which has been how it was for those who had 4 day weeks but the school board voted the day off on Monday

Did they mention why?

I would think there is a much larger portion of the population who has some sort of modified schedule on Friday rather than Monday (shortened day, no work on Friday, etc...).

I guess they don't really care about parental work schedules if they are going to a 4 day week anyway, as the vast majority of people work M-F.

I wanna say Caldwell Parish does this or something similar but if you aren't at school on a friday you can't have football teams/sports stuff or something so they do monday. Someone will correct me, but it is something like that.

In a 4 day environment in schools, Friday’s off in my mind works better for high schools when you consider athletics.

For elementary schools, a 4 day week schedule helps no one except the lazy teachers that want the extra day off.
