Thoughts on this $50 Timex?

The different color sectors reminds me of a radio room watch but not exactly. I don't particularly like the color selection and it looks a little cartoonish but to each his own.

If it were me and I was looking for a watch with a similar vibe I would get a Vostock Amphibian with a radio room dial. It is a watch with history and the dial is a design that was actually useful and has a history of its own.

Amazon has a Vostik store now and while they aren't as cheap as buying direct from Russia it is a lot quicker and has none of the concerns about ordering from overseas.

At the mall last week with the wife and drifted over to the watch displays and noticed a Seiko 5 Sport that had a somewhat similar look of a SKX007 that I have. Similar till I got a closer look. Definitely not the same watch. Looked at some reviews on the 5 Sports and the ratings are as wide as a football field. From "Hot Garbage" to "Excellent time piece for the money".
What's your thoughts on these and the 4R36 movement?

I have the Scuba Dude Vostok. It ran for a little while, but locked up a couple of time. It even survived dive trips, so it is a true dive watch.
Would not mind getting it fixed again, but would likely be more expensive than replacing it.

Vostocks are built like fricking tanks and can take a beating.

Two of the best sub 100 watches I've ever owned.
