Is Russell Sheppard good enough to step in and play from day 1?

Is Jordan Jefferson the answer? You really have to look at the fact that Les wont even put him in at all just yet...even as bad as J Lee has been at times...thats not a good sign....

Can J Lee get his shite together, possibly be part of a two-man rotation with Jefferson/Sheppard? He did seem to do better with Hatch around to spell him occasionally.

In hindsight, most predicted this would happen this year, but its still tough to stomach.

IMO no; based on nothing except reports i've read that he's raw as a passer. he might but i would be surprised.

This season is burnt toast and he will not waste a season of talent for a lost cause. Next year.

J Lee starts
A Hatch rotates in to run option and tight end throwback play
J Jefferson sits on the bench contemplating transferring
R sheppard comes in to run the wild sheppard formation 2 times a game
Garrett is redshirted

JJ should start against Troy. HE can't do any worse than Lee is doing.

well one positive thing is that Sheppard will be here in the spring so will take part in all of spring practice. I think he and Jefferson will get an equal chance as Hatch and Lee.

I think Hatch may loose his scolly..

He is not SEC caliber...JJ should be able to at least do what he does running the option..

We need a leader on the feild! at QB! getting in people face to catch the ball and block...

Forget this he is a RS freshman talk now..After 9 games I am ready to turn the page....get it together or sit...This is big boy football...we don't have a lot of time to grow up..

Hatch is not SEC caliber????

I have just one stat for you: 13 of 34 with 4 interceptions. 13 of 34 with 4.

Hatch is not SEC caliber? What Junior College should JJLee be playing for then?

+1

J Lee was struggling very bad during the Bama game and still didn't give JJ an opportunity. Could have at least gave the kid a shot.

Because he is in for option plays only! What does that tell you about the coaches confidence in him throwing the ball? Have you seen his deep ball?

he doesn't have an SEC Arm! He has great wheels!

We need a player than can do both well..That was in RP...

I think JJ has it, just don't know yet

We know RS will be electric running, throwing it?, don't know

Unless Russell is the next Joe Montana he will redshirt next year. Starting QB will and has always been decided in pre-season practices. 99% chance you will only see Lee and Jefferson next season.

Doubt it Crowton is still on staff. hatch is his boy so he will always have a roll.

expect next year to be very frustrating at QB. 2010 and 2011 are our next SEC contending years.

That's what raises a red flag for me concerning JJ...Les wont even put him in during desperate times...

I dont know if he is somehow trying to protect him or just has no faith in his ability just yet, either way not a ringing endorsement for JJ...

given our situation now though, Les needs to pull the trigger and give JJ a shot...start preparing for next season.

I thought that's what they would do to Jefferson, but his reshirt has been spent for some absurd reason. If he was getting the more of the snaps in a game, that would be different. But the most number of snaps he has taken was four.

A redshirt year for Shep would be good though. If he really is "The Chosen One" at QB, than we need him to refine his technique as much as possible.
