Miles Out-coached...?

...I THINK NOT!! He deserves a ton of credit. We are weakest at our MOST crucial position, QB, yet we had a great chance to win the game yesterday. He has done nothing but produce great winning seasons since he replaced Saban. We had to replace a lot of crucial positions, and if we win out and win our bowl game, that's at least 10 wins 4 seasons in a row for Miles and LSU. I will take that any day on our "down" year!
Kudos to Miles and his coaching staff, and I hope he's here a long time!

Miles didn't really make any questionable, game altering calls, Crowton is calling the offense and should be blamed for throwing it to much, and Lee should be blamed for throwing the ints. No where in the plyabook does it say "thow an int."

Ya know, national media like to characterize Miles as a loose gambler with a bunch of luck. So you'd think, "Miles will make a crazy call that fails and causes LSU to lose the game."
That isn't his style. His risks are calculated and don't seem to be made under haste and desperation.
Tough season, but Miles is still our guy.

If any thing applies here I think sometimes he may have overcoached. There were a couple of calls that were a little "too cute" where we should have just run the ball and punted.

No, I wouldn't say Miles was out coached at all. Nick Saban barely left town with a victory. That's amazing.
The staff did make a few dumb calls. Run the option on 3rd and 1? And then punt on 4th and 2 at the Bama 35. Hell, we punted and they got it at the 15--next play they were back at the 35. I'd liked to have seen Miles take a chance there--I think it would have worked. This game was coached too conservatively.
And Gary Crowton needs to learn that he doesn't have a star QB out there. He likes the razzle-dazzle and cute plays. That's not going to work with Lee--or any other young QB for that matter. Use Charles Scott a lot and create opportunities for safe throws outside of the hash marks (Lee can't throw across his body). Keep it simple stupid!

every tiger fan watching that game was thinking the same thing:

Miles was outcoached.

Miles got outsmarted. Any smart coach would have benched Lee's arse.

You lost this argument badly on the Score Board. you'll lose it here too.

No way Miles was outcoached. The coaching was dead even on both sides.
If anything, I thought he almost outcoached Saban considering the disadvantage at QB/offense LSU was playing with.

Not running option with JJ=Out coached

Bama was playing with 8 in the box with Lee @ QB. Bring JJ in and they probably put all 11 in the box.

If anything, Miles outcoached Saban.
Alabama was taken to overtime.
The only reason it got to overtime was two int's by a green QB and a missed fieldgoal by a normally automatic David.

the two plays i didnt like were in ot when we ran the wild tiger and then we threw it in double coverage in the endzone ,should have been a shorter pass or we could have ran in 3 plays in a row and if we dont get a first down we kick a FG and put the pressure on bama.but it is what it is and i will havt o dill with it.

I don't think he was out-coached, he just let some pathetic plays go in.
He should have run up the middle to give Colt better field position instead of letting Lee throw.
As far as national media thinking he's not that smart....well maybe they think that because of the time out call after time had clicked down, THEN call a very questionalble challenge.

Myles is a good coach, but Sabin seems better.

With a senior quarterback against a redshirt freshman quarterback, Nick Saban needed four interceptions and overtime to get a victory. One of Alabama's TD's came off of a pick-six and another came off of a 15-yard drive set up by an interception. Miles wasn't outcouched at any point by Saban. The coaching staff's downfall is that Jordan Jefferson is not prepared to do anything on the field except handoff to Tulane nine games into the season.
If we had a servicable quarterback, we would have been up by at least seven at halftime (the pick-six tied the game right before the half) if not more.
