I backed the kid up every single game this year until yesterday.
The loss was completely on his shoulders and thats just simple plain truth.
But I will never boo a player in a tiger uniform

It's bad luck. Nobody was gonna come into LSU 2 or 3 years ago, knowing they had to sit behind Russell, Flynn, and Perilloux. I'm not too convinced we're gonna have a good quarterback situation next year either, but I have hope for the defense.

I like our chances with Shep and Garrett. By next year Lee and Jefferson will be a lot better IMO. We shouldnt have a QB problem for the next several years.

Heres the deal about Lee. We all know how he played. But there were 4 balls dropped last night. When you have a QB struggling to find some rhythm, that isnt how you help him.
Also C. Mitchell slowed his route coming out of his break until he saw the ball was in the air. (if he stays full speed, its a TD).Thats not how you help him.
There were also a few false starts last night. When you have a QB struggling to make plays and move the chains it doesnt help to put him with long yardage situations.
We also had a Kicker miss what could have been the game winner. When your young qb finally gets you in scoring position. You cant miss a fg. Thats not how you help him.

Now this doesnt excuse how he played,he did have a very bad game, but it didnt help either. He probably still would have had a bad game, but with a little more help at specific times, we still could have won the game.

I suppose missed blocks, dropped passes, and missed field goals had nothing to do with it??

Not bashing any of the players...mistakes happen, but to put the loss on one player is really stupid.

Have you all forgotten about the Hatch man. As long as crowton is running the offense he will figure into the offense.

Lee played a horrible game yesterday, no doubt, but, damn, LSU's receivers dropped half a dozen balls at least.

That last interception was an ill-advised pass on an ill-conceived play. Rolling him to the right on basically a two-man route pretty much gave him nowhere to throw the ball.

It was third-and-long, for crying out loud, and the one thing EVERYONE knows in such a situation is that $$$$$ is gonna blitz. And what did we, as LSU fans, learn during our years watching $$$$$'s defenses in such case? That's right, that he NEVER defends the middle of the field!!!!!!

I saw that we kept Dixon in to block on that last play. All we would have had to do is have Dixon chip his man at the line and release, and that sonofabitch might have scored, because he would have been wide arse open.

Is there NO ONE left at LSU to tell Maleveto how to attack a Saban defense when the blitz is on? We never once tried that and we could have burned them big several times.

Lee is learning a lot of lessons this season. He's not reading defenses well and seems to throw where the called play dictates no matter what the coverage is. He'll learn with good coaching. I think he has the talent, he just needs to develop. The play calling last night didn't consider this, especially in OT. I put blame on Crowton as much as anyone for the loss.

I have to say thats the smartest comment I've read yet . I agree with masontiger 100%. the coaching play calls seem to set him up for failure.

not to kick somebody when they are down, but remember the play where we only needed 2 yds for first down, and instead of him running for it, he flips it over byrds head out of bounds...what was that all about?...

I heard a lot of Tiger fans saying that last night as I came out of the stadium. Not only did we throw it too much, but Crowton (our QB coach) also hasn't taught the kid how to check down and go through his progressions. I am begining to wonder if Crowton is a good QB coach. Jimbo Fisher was a good QB coach but Crowton is a better cordinator.

Lee is def regressing, but that happens sometimes, you get worse before you get better....

whole game def wasnt on his shoulders, coaches could guide him a lil better, and wr's make a play, not catch a routine pass but make a play! Craptree makes cathes in triple coverage, he out jumps people etc etc etc, but most of all make the ugly plays, the 3-5 yard receptions on 2nd down and then we dont have 3rd and long.........

we had a couple of plays were wr's were prob gonna take a hit for just a 4-5 yd gain and they didnt do it and put us un 3rd and long...

on other hand Lee wasnt cause of 1 of ints, pick 6 shou8ldnt have happened, its not like guy ran in front of wr with no one to stop him, hell on 3rd int i saw lafell try and run away from guy who made int then as a last resort bumped him!!!! didnt even try and tackle just bumped.....

and the ints are bad, but our wr's know by now that he isnt all there yet, turn into a defender and bat ball away, do something to help the kid!

Everyone is calling him a freshman QB. He is nearing the end of his second full year in the program. As a redshirt QB, he practiced every day with the team. Right now, he is 3 games away from being a Junior - if you count all of last year in the program, and 9 out of 12 games in his second year. What does anyone see that can be considered "improvement." He's doing the same thing in game 9 that he did in game 1. I'm sorry, but I don't see one ounce of improvement.

He's pathetic. He lost the game hands down. Miles should have benched him after his first interception. I'm tired of waiting for him to develop into a good QB. I don't care how young he is, he threw 4 of the ugliest and costliest interceptions I've ever witnessed yesterday.
