Basically an update from the all star games
Sampson dropped because he was hurt and didn't play in game

Yeah Billy and Shea both said they didn’t agree with Sampson’s ranking

Breaking down LSU signees in final On300 rankings

Zalance Heard ranked by On3 as a 5-star

quote:

LSU offensive tackle signee Zalance Heard is not only a five-star in the final On3 rankings, but he’s moved up the list, once again.

Now, Heard has moved up to the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2023 class. He was previously ranked No. 15 overall.

The move also pushes Heard from the No. 3 offensive tackle up to the No. 2 offensive tackle this cycle.

Heard’s No. 2 offensive tackle ranking is the highest for an LSU signee since La’el Collins was ranked as the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2011 class.

For the one-time defensive tackle prospect, it’s been a fast rise to becoming one of the nation’s most coveted offensive linemen.

Dashawn Womack moves up within 5-star rankings

quote:

The final rankings from On3 for the 2023 class are complete.

Once again, LSU signee Dashawn Womack received a bump.

Womack entered the day as the No. 22 overall prospect and the No. 4 EDGE rusher in the 2023 cycle.

Now, he’s ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and the No. 3 EDGE rusher in the 2023 cycle.

While Womack was unable to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game as a result of postseason surgery, he did enough as a senior to turn heads with the On3 rankings team.

In 10 games, Womack logged 48 Tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five fumble recoveries, one blocked field goal and one touchdown.

Womack is likely why they haven't pushed hard for a big pass rusher in the portal. They probably feel like he could be a day 1 starter assuming he picks everything up fast enough. We'll see.

In no reality does Oklahoma, Texas or Miami have a better class than LSU.
List is shite.

No problem man! I think they just updated the Team Rankings. LSU is sitting at #6 in the rankings now, they jumped ahead of Oklahoma

Those players won’t be better developed, that’s for certain. The Oklahoma brand is among the more elite nationally, but not sure why these kids are putting their future in the hands of an unproven head coach who underperformed in a bad conference, with a 49 point shutout loss to Texas. Miami, see Oklahoma. Texas will continue to underachieve until Sark is gone. All that is to say Womack, Heard, Sampson, and company won’t regret the development of Coach Kelly’s program and staff.

How many times has this been said about a Texas coach? I agree they underachieve in terms of prestige, resources and overall program potential but the reality the national media and Longhorn fans don't want to admit is that Texas is just being Texas. A propped up program that really has done nothing significant other than underachieve even during that top end Mack Brown era. They've won exactly 1 national title since 1970 and in the 50 years since have been a strong, solid program with enormous upside that doesn't provide the results to match the hype.(the Mack run was impressive but disappointing at the same time as a Texas fan) But like ND,(who also has 1 title since the 70s), they get a pass because they are one of those so called "blue bloods". It's time to stop saying Texas is back and just say Texas is what it is, a middle of the pack program in a bad conference. Their reality is about to really hit home when they make the SEC jump.

They must have updated their numbers again, or they hadn't calculated everything earlier. On3 now shows LSU at #6 with a 92.71 class ranking, just passing OU.

Waiting for if/when Rivals and ESPN update theirs. Seems like Pimpton and Weeks both deserve to be consensus 4* at this point. Especially after showing out in the all-star practices.

Are you concerned with the teams ahead of us?

Will LSU have a number 1 or top 3 class again soon?

LA is too weak for that next year

Have a chance at a top 3 class for 25 and 26 with the top end talent instate

We are top 5 on On3

if Weeks, Womack, Pimpton, and couple others climb on the other service we'll finish top 5 on the consensus

Gonna be pretty funny when Venables has a top 10 team 2 years from now. People giving him hell completely forget that he's a first year head coach. Does anybody remember Kirby Smart's first year? Venables was a defensive guru getting top tier DL recruits every single year. That guy's defense is not some easy thing to learn either.

This reminds me of all the Mike Norvell hate from his first year. For some reason the world is completely impatient nowadays and unless you are the best thing smoking year one, you're complete shite. Every coach should be given 3 years at minimum.
