Because they can’t be seen as “losing”, ever. Even if they are completely wrong as they were in Ruby Ridge and Waco, they will keep pushing. They don’t want anyone to get the idea they can win. Same with law enforcement, that’s why you never see videos of cops going “we’re sorry, you were right about that law”. They arrest you anyway and make it a hassle just because. (No, I’ve never been arrested)
