Covered this in med school, looking at disease and cancer rates. It’s funny that it hasn’t changed and you can follow the Mississippi River drainage with the stats. Of course industrial contamination from the North in earlier times with soil deposits in those flood plains were always a theory.

I bet you could compare maps of lowest obesity rates, lowest alcoholism rates and lowest tobacco use and get the exact same outcome.
