Transfer Portal/NIL

I've concluded that there's no reason to flip out over a kid that has ZERO college football credibility. Walker Howard and the rest of the transfer portal guys must do what is best for them. If it's a money grab, it's just a sign of the times. If the issue is playing time, the player needs to work harder because there is no guarantee at the next stop, competition will not be an issue.
With respect to NIL, I think it's a downright stupid investment from a business sense. The investor might as well invest in widgets because it's all a fugazi. The return on investment is the same as investing in widgets. It's a sunk cost, and I can't imagine business people will continue putting big money out there with the potential a kid will make it.

NIL isn’t the problem, the Portal is makes it easy to back off a commitment when there is no penalty. But it’s what every one wanted

Terrible take... You don't realize how solidified Gordon, for instance, is in the minds of the people of south Louisiana now? It's a very savy business move, especially for him since what he does appeals to the demographic who would use his services. Duh ??

I think what we are seeing now is watching it all shake out.
Kids are going to start to realize they are doing little more than chasing their tails with this stuff and that a lot of it will show to be counter-productive (even from an economic standpoint).
It will eventually drift back to some normalcy.

Freeze is already being called out for tampering from Illinois and the Tolan thing is a mystery
Florida and Rashada are in some kind of weird place financially
If this is not inducements I don't know what is
Bech goes to TCU and now Howard may as well, Bech doing the behind the scenes work before Howard even enters portal
Oregon takes Burch from South Carolina
USC has been out there pretty aggressive
Bama had a deal in place with Boutte who never entered portal last year
UGA might be the only team not playing the game
