Highway 71 Texarkana to Fayetteville

Fine road I’ve driven many times. Good scenery through the Ouachita mtns around Mena.

Boston Mtns from Ft Smith to Fayetteville are also very pretty.

Drive can be tough at night.

GPS usually shows that interstate 30 to little rock then interstate 40 to 49 to Fayetteville is only about a 15 minute difference so we go that way to avoid 2 lane highway. Be warned that 30 has construction and is an 18 wheeler route from Dallas. We are also usually travelling that way in the evening and at night so I like the exits for gas station/potty break/snack options. Can't see much at night anyway.

Beautiful drive but watch out for the chicken trucks. Passing can get sketchy once you get in the hills.
