it's actually even WORSE than all of this.
the bengals "won" the afc north no matter what right now. but if they lose to the ravens this weekend, they have a coin flip for the home game because they could have lost the afc north had they also lost to the bills.
so the bengals could win the afc north, get a worse draft pick, have the first place schedule next year, AND play on the road in the first round of the playoffs. they could literally get all the penalties of winning the division and NONE of the benefits. it's fricking INSANE.
the ONLY possible benefit that the bengals could get out of all of this is if they lose to the ravens and then win the coin flip. even under that very specific and roughly 30% likelihood or so, they looked like they were going to win on monday and should have just won the division anyway, but with the home game.
ETA: i have lived in cincinnati for 8 years and everyone is pissed

Nola Tiger LSU calls you a liar
By the way, Bengal twitter all hates this. The unequal application of giving the Ravens a shot at a coin flip with the Bengals, but not the Bengals a shot at a coin flip with the Bills is the main sticking point.

That's a microcosm of society today, everyone has to always be outraged about something.
