Meetings the first Thursday of every month at the Bluebonnet Library.
Day hikes the 2nd Saturday of every month.
Trail Maintenance trips (lots of fun actually) and 3-4 big trips every year. Usually a trip to Big Bend in February, other trips to various parts of the country. Some people prefer staying in cabins, others like me prefer to camp.
Typically a few backpacking trips every year too.
It costs $10 per year per household to join (i.e. if you had a wife and 3 kids living in the same house, the $10 covers everyone in the house!)
We did a section of the AT in Georgia in October and the group I went with plans to go do another section in March.
There's also a Gear Library where you can check out gear for free. Gear is mainly for camping like backpacks, tents, cooking equipment, tarps, sleeping bags, etc.
It's a fun club.

Used to be some pretty cool folks and a good club when I was involved in the around 1999/2000 or so.
Glad to see they are still around and apparently pretty active.

If I was still in LA, I’d be all over this
Louisiana is really lacking in quality trails for some reason. Hopefully you guys can start lobbying the idiots in government to start earmarking funds for that sort of thing.
If y’all are ever in the Bryson City area or need help planning a trip in this area, I’m happy to help. My wife and I completed a trip from Deep Creek to Clingmans Dome over the weekend.
