Meh, 7mm-08 lacks sufficient stopping power, go with .308

My youngest has shot a 7MM-08 Browning X-Bolt for about 15 years. I’ve used it a couple of hunts as well. Minimal recoil, and we’ve never failed to recover anything we’ve shot. A well placed shot from a .243 on up on Southern whitetail like most of us hunt are going to put them down. I killed a spike in Texas a few years ago with a borrowed .220 Swift shooting (IIRC) a 55 grain bullet. Stoned where he stood.

They are pretty close to each other.
