You do know there’s a video right?
From the WAFB video, these are the first two cars through the intersection after the wreck:

Those sure look like BRPD cruisers to me.
The first one might have been Brusly PD (I don’t think so, though). The second was definitely BRPD, as were the next 2:

Either 5 or 6 of the 7 police vehicles you can see in the video crossing the intersection after the wreck are BRPD. So yes, they were still in pursuit.
It sounds like the suspect was headed south, then made a U-turn and headed back north. That’s probably how the Addis cop wound up at the front of the chase.
