Message for Roman Catholics:

Our Faith has been around since Christ's Ministry because He founded it. Our Faith is rich. You owe it to yourself at some point in your life, maybe now, to study about your Faith by doing some reading on the websites that I linked: Catholic Answers and the on-line Catechism. Both of these websites include materials that will refer you to the Biblical bases of our Doctrine, Practices and Catechism.

There is a lot to our Faith. You owe it to yourself to understand it.

Aside from the Bible and Catechism, I recommend every Catholic read the book Unabridged Christianity by Fr. Mario Romero, followed by The Fathers Know Best by Jimmy Akin (former Calvinist).

VolcanicTiger is either a child, a troll or a retard. I would ignore his posts in this thread. Each one is an express admission of his ignorance.

Folks, you can research for yourself. The 8th Century was in the 700s. The Protestant false theology of "Bible Alone" was unknown in the 700s. It was invented hundreds of years later.

In the 700s, most people were illiterate and even fewer than that could afford a book. There were no printing presses back then.
I see your reading skills are a bit... lacking.

I'm mocking the utterly pathetic logic you guys ALWAYS seem to gravitate to - namely citing historical lying dipshits and your tiny array websites that spread their lies. If there was a Pope So-and-so and he was in the 9th Century... sorry. Besides, relying on the Bible and not scummy power-lords keeping people under their pedophiliac thumbs goes way back to before Christianity ever took off.

The Catholic Church cannot be the Whore. We are told that the heads “are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come.” If five of these kings had fallen in John’s day and one of them was still in existence, then the Whore must have existed in John’s day. Yet Christian Rome and Vatican City did not. However, pagan Rome did have a line of emperors, and the majority of scholars see this as the line of kings to which Rev 17 refers. Five of these emperors are referred to as having already fallen, one as still reigning in John’s time, and another yet to come. Since Jerusalem had no such line of kings in the first century, this gives us evidence that the Beast (though not the Whore) is Rome. Pagan Rome. The Whore is more accurately assumed to be symbolic for the city where Jesus was crucified.

ETA: I find it hilarious that prots are quick to tell Catholics that the RCC was invented by Constantine in the 400s, yet somehow the RCC was the Whore in the 90s AD. Doesn't add up.

Nice try though.

I just think it's funny that the RCC is evil (fortunately not most of the congregants), and you guys refuse to see it because you think Jesus founded YOU specifically! What a clown show you guys are! Look at all the a-hole popes you've had. Do you think that's Jesus's legacy?! I could just as credibly say that since John the Baptist was a baptist, then the correct denomination is Baptist.

Everything else aside, I do appreciate that you will defend your beliefs. I think that, right or wrong, our faith is what we will be judged on. I'm just not so sure the RCC believes that, and that's the crux of my beef with the RCC.

I think you're confusing the Church with its fallible leaders.

quote:

Look at all the a-hole popes you've had

Some have been, but the church doesn't teach that Pope's are infallible. There have been very few truly bad popes, and those eras of bad popes always ushered in an era of growth and prosperity for the church.

Also, look at who he chose as his disciples. I mean Paul (although not one of the 12) was a mass-murderer of Christians.

He was an Essen Jew, not a Baptist, so you would be wrong.

So after you defend them for pages, I'm an idiot for thinking you're one of them? Just because you're angry doesn't mean you have to engage in hyperbole.

I have the "Fathers Know Best" book and I'm reading it now.

Also, message to fellow Catholics: the Protestant churches edited the Bible to excise and remove more than a mere handful of Holy Books from the Old Testament. They did this more than 1,500 years after the Apostles preached from the Catholic Bible.

I recommend this bible. It is extensively footnoted. It has extensive commentary explaining how our Faith fits in to each Bible verse.

Find more about this Bible at this link:

PS Don't listen to false prophets who want you to believe that the Protestants who lived more than 1,500 years after Christ were RIGHT to edit the Holy Bible. They were wrong. The Apostles preached on and referred to the FULL Gospel that includes the Old Testament books that the Protestants threw out. You can read all about the Catholic Bible at Catholic Answers com. There are MANY well-researched articles on that website.

The Early Church Was The Catholic Church. This book by Joe Heschmeyer is well-researched and very thorough. He focuses on two critically important Doctrines: Baptism and The Eucharist.

This book demonstrates with extensive evidence that the Early Christian Church, that is, the Church during the first 150 years after Christ walked the Earth, believed as today's Catholic Church with regard to Baptism and The Eucharist.

Yes, you’re an idiot, but that’s not the cause. That’s just a symptom. Also, where did I “defend them”? Just discussing your idiotic logic and ignorance isn’t “defending them”. Your temperament and irrational outbursts are just causing you to think that. Grow up a little, and keep your eye on the ball.

Wha??

Then what of the obsessive Marian worship? RCC's prayers assigned to HER they believe confer Divine power as a "Mediatrix" TO Jesus Christ? What of the supposed "Mediation" of the Saints -- again as "Mediator" TO Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ: "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME." (John 14:6)

NO "Mediator" required. Not Biblical.

(Btw: FORMER RCC here.)
