Looking to do a trip of likely 6 guys around May, and would like to get 2-3 rounds in. Staying in tampa and would like to keep it within a half hour. Looked at streamsong, but ruled out for distance.

Difficulty of course doesn’t really matter.

That’s on our list. Just seeing if there were any hidden gems in the area we were missing. Heard TPC Tampa is nice as well.

Have you been? Reviews kinda seem meh but it’s hard to weed out the irrelevant ones. Think guests have to stay on grounds to get access to courses.

You have a few options, staying in downtown Tampa in the 30 minute range.

Lake Jovita-two courses always in fairly good shape.

Saddlebrook - two courses, mostly resort/executive style courses

Innisbrooke - only real draw is the Copperhead course

Maybe see if you can get a round in at Tampa Palms or Hunters Green on Golf Now. I believe they run some specials in the summer…not 100%

You need to go to Streamsong. It’s worth the drive.

I'm a member of an OK private out in the suburbs if y'all are interested in that. Almost exactly 30 minutes from downtown. It's no Augusta, but usually in good/decent shape that time of year.

Disagree. Most would say the Island course is better and more challenging. North course is decent but a challenge.

I love it here. We live in the community, so I am up at the range every day I am working from home for my lunch break. Course has a great layout, but the HOA just bought the country club from a private operator a couple years back and is getting it back into good shape.

River Hills definitely has better amenities, especially if you have a family. Buckhorn has a better course and is better if you just want golf. Neither are too expensive, but we've got some pretty good deals that I don't think Buckhorn has.

If you want to get out or if you have any questions, you can email me at screenname at gmail. January is pretty slammed for me but I am always willing to take a day off mid week or I can see if I can get something worked out.

I did a trip to Innisbrook with a group of 6 guys earlier this month and it was awesome. Copperhead, Island, and South courses were all in great shape. The overseed was lush and the greens were fast and true. The North course wasn't overseeded so the dormant bermuda wasn't great, but no different than what you play in LA this time of year. Everything about the resort was great. We paid $1,350 for 3 nights and 6 rounds that included lodging, golf (two rounds copperhead, two rounds island, one north, one south), $25 proshop voucher, free breakfast and lunch for 3 days, and other typically included stuff. They took care of our clubs overnight and had them ready to go the next morning at whatever course we played. It was an all around great experience.

I will say that the Island course is one of the hardest courses I've ever played. Overly hard for my particular taste, but it is a really nice course.

Completely disagree. It is more challenging though

Southern Hills in Brooksville. It's worth the short drive. Really nice course.

I second this. It will be the only course in the Tampa area that is truly memorable. Very special place. Worth the drive.

May want to check with Streamsong before making any reservations, they had some issues with the new greens they put in on the Red and Blue course. The Mach1 greens didn't respond well after some fertilizer treatment and i believe they lost a few of them.

Thanks. I think they are coming back. We played the Blue in October, and they looked fine.
