Some I've always thought were Craig T. Nelson, Giovanni Ribisi, and Amy Ryan off the top of my head. Craig T. Nelson is in the John Goodman mold of being able to seamlessly go from intimidating and dramatic to legitimately funny

He definitely deserved it too. Three billboards was a fantastic movie and he was the best thing in it.
