Lazy response. Coaches never think a backup who has never played real snaps is the best option. The coaches have to be convinced and they don’t want to make risky decisions, unfortunately.

That’s just not true, it’s just more often then not the previous starter is the best option at the time.

Yes shocking that the guy who’s job is actually on the line goes with the guy he think gives him the best chance to win instead of the “what if” imagination of fans.

My guess is the coaches know way more than anyone on this board.
