Do you live in Utah, or are you saying you are going to move there over a few hundred dollars?
Also, when was your house insured for 200k (originally)? No one is defending insurance companies, but people are trying to provide some perspective.
As much as you hate to hear this, the insurance companies don’t give a shite about you individually. Not a single person will blink when you cancel your policy. I understand your frustration, but I’d you can’t find cheaper coverage, your options are to self insure or pay. No amount of huffing and puffing will change that. You hold zero power besides declining the services offered.

I'm currently in Louisiana.
$700 in another state vs the $4000 it is here goes into the "significant considerations" box alongside no state income tax, etc, etc.
Originally insured 2 years ago for HALF. We are definitely canceling based off the increase and the reasons provided by the insurer (NONE).
Everyone sitting around thinking they don't individually make a difference is how elections are won and lost. Of course I know the CEO of Safeco isn't calling me tomorrow with an apology and 1/2 off quote. Is that reason enough to do nothing and keep quiet?
