They have Trey Holly from Georgia and he is from Louisiana in the article

You get more intelligent players that way, even many that could qualify for college without a scholarship.
Buying recruits leads to nothing but shitty people looking for the next payday.

I hate a lot that came with NIL but this is just dumb. A lot of these kids come from nothing. For them, the NIL money will help their families. I can’t blame kids who have struggled financially their whole lives to take advantage of an opportunity to finally have money. These NIL deals can be life changing for some of these kids. Sure, you will have some toxic ones but they are the minority. Most will appreciate the money they are getting and continue to work hard.

Agreed, the toxic ones would be toxic and lazy with or without the money. And the good ones would be good hard workers with out without the money as well.

I can do 100 push ups in 20 minutes!

I think what a lot of people get confused about here is the fact that you can both be correct. Not so black and white in my opinion. If I were a kid from limited means and was given the opportunity to negotiate for more money to provide for MY family as an 18yo, I would take that deal and be proud.
However if you throw lots of big numbers around like this, you will also attract vain folks with *misaligned* priorities who are not in it for the right reasons and can be difficult when they get to campus.
Have to trust the staff at the end of the day to sort it out themselves. Each situation is unique.

You are
If your tactic is to buy the best players you can, you'll end up like A&M with a transfer portal that has no rivals.
