247 just put him on our list of transfers. He wasn't even a 2-star in high school. He wasn't even taken seriously enough to get ranked. He was a 0-star.

That's what I call an overachiever.

Will be interesting to see if he gets that second CB spot or Welch does. I'm hoping Welch shows out in the Purdue game.

Great to hear. Im wondering was this due to not camping at all. Regardless glad we have him I'm sure Welch and him will push each other.

Probably because no one outside the area has even heard of Loreauville, Louisiana to know this guy existed.

I’m excited to have him but what little I’ve seen he looks more like a FS or a zone corner. I think he may struggle with man to man in the sec. Hoping Banks and Welch can hold down the outside. Welch was coming back from a acl injury last offseason. I have high hopes for him this year.

Kid sounds like a gamer that will excel wherever you put him.

quote:

During his prep career, Alexander batted leadoff and played outfield for an LHS baseball team that won the Class 2A state title his sophomore year and reached the semifinals the following year. The LHSAA canceled the baseball season his senior year due to COVID-19.

The LHS football team finished 1-9 after Alexander was injured in Week 1 of his junior campaign. As a senior, he led the Tigers to a 7-4 record while passing for 1,283 yards and 14 TDs with only two interceptions. In the first round of the playoffs, he accounted for seven TDs in an upset of higher-seed Lake Arthur.

quote:

"Grambling wanted him to play quarterback," said Loreauville coach Terry Martin. "If he fine-tunes a few things, I think there's no doubt he could be a college quarterback. He sees himself as a safety, but I think he'd be phenomenal as a receiver."

quote:

Martin said Alexander is a natural leader. "He has a great effect on those around him," Martin said. "We had really low numbers on the basketball team last year. Because some injuries, we had to finish some games with four guys. And so Zy had been cleared by that time from the football injury. He went and talked to the basketball coach and said, 'I know I haven't been with you all along, but if you want, I'll go ahead and start practicing and play a few games until baseball gets rolling to help you out.'

Also Denver Harris as a True Freshman was Mid-season All American, this year, he was a .986 5* coming out, transfer portal .964 High 4*, 247 ranking has nothing to do with off field issues so why did he drop, no injury, what did they expect him to do as a 5* freshman, he was the best freshman DB in the country, falls from 5 to 4, no star gazer but I don’t get their FOOTBALL evaluation

His high school coach talks as to why not many knew about him. High School coach Domanick Davis at Breaux Bridge.
Domanick now goes by Domanick Williams.
