I hate to hear this as I remember him well. I was at LSU then. He was the Super Sub.
RIP.

This one REALLY STINGS for me personally. I remember him as a young Tigah when I was first starting to keep up with sports, especially LSU football and basketball.
My parents took me to a few games in both sports, but I primarily kept up with the LSU team's games on 1150am WJBO in BR. I also listened to Astros and New Orleans Jazz games on that station many nights.
I remember the bald guy that NEVER played (Gus Williams I think), hitting two FTs with no time on the clock to win at Ole Miss. Many nights listening to these guys play: Andy Campbell, Al & Tree Green, Tyrone Black, plus Willie Sims and the GREAT Tigers like Rudy, Ethan, Scales, the Cookie Monster, and HI-C.
I hope Willie's family finds peace. Just another part of my childhood, and a GREAT TIGER gone.

Very sad - way too young. RIP, Willie! Thank you for being a part of the Purple and Gold nation.

Man that's so sad. He was a great player at LSU. Best 6th man in the country.

That's sad new for LSU. He was an integral part of the final four team DB amassed. Saw him when LSU beat Tenn. in the PP, and later in NO for the finals of the Mid East/West tournament. Brought LSU into the NCAA basketball upper circles. RIP WS.
