I think the SEC bias is showing here with the Tebow answers. Hes a clear second, don't get me wrong. But I think Reggie Bush was just another level of star.

Maybe I just don't remember, but Tebow strikes me as having had much bigger celebrity off the field than Bush. Leinart too perhaps.

No, he's not. Tebow got infinitely more press coverage than Bush did, and I wasn't living in the South when either player was in college. The religious aspect with Tebow took it to another level, and 2008 Florida was a good bit better than any of Bush's USC teams. Time zone and watchability were a huge part of this too. Florida games were a lot easier to find on TV than USC games. Bush played at USC back when ABC games were still mostly regional broadcasts. He also played several games after most people had gone to bed.

Tebow was on another planet than any other college football player in my lifetime as far as press coverage and stardom. It's really not close, IMO.
