I’m guessing many states would have series fiscal issues, especially amongst the poor.

Google tells me almost a third of Texas budget is federal funding.

In Texas, more than 95 percent of federal grants received in fiscal 2016 went to three functional areas of government: health and human services; public and higher education; and business and economic development, primarily highways and transportation

The fact that Texas has turned more purple than the state of Illinois tells me Texans don’t really have a say what is going on. Can they leave, sure, I don’t think they’d be successful. They’d be more like to be gotten kicked off the big tit.

They wouldn't need any fed funding once their citizens don't have to pay federal taxes anymore and instead pay taxes to the Republic of Texas.
