I may check this out. I'm always amazed that people fell for this shite. I know it was a different time back then, but man it seems like someone at SOME point would be like "Hey, maybe this is bullshite and we should call the cops to verify things."
The poor girl that went through it must have been pretty mentally broken from it. And honestly even the gullible manager(s) who performed it as well (though to a lesser extent I'd imagine).

We live in a world where every day, people are tricked into thinking the IRS takes ITunes cards. Does it make sense? No, but it happens all the time.

I watched the movie Compliance and I always had suspicion that the boyfriend of the manager knew what was happening was wrong. He made efforts to hide the extent of what was happening from his girlfriend and would have the employee cover up whenever some one else came in the room. They portrayed him as a somewhat pathetic drunk but it seemed like as soon as it was over he knew he was done for and I can't imagine that he didn't know what was happening was wrong and to go along with it I believe he had to have enjoyed it. Messed up story all around.
